2022 Update to Water Regulations

Heads up: new Building Regulations require a system-water test at every boiler service. If your water needs a chemical top-up, it’s normally £25, but if you’re on our Platinum+ Plan, we’ll cover that cost for you.

Main Service Requirements

Your main service is required every five years (six to nine years for Worcester Bosch models), takes 2–3 hours and includes all serviceable parts, gaskets, seals and electrodes plus a full chemical test and inhibitor re-dose. 

Priced from £300 depending on your boiler, this comprehensive check keeps your system safe, efficient and under warranty. 

If you’re on our Platinum+ Care Plan, your monthly payment covers the entire service, including parts, chemicals and labour, so you never pay a penny extra.

That’s why we offer our Boiler Service Plans. Our team of engineers will provide you with peace of mind by servicing your boiler annually, keeping it in good working order and making sure you stay warm and cosy all year round.
Boiler service plans are the best way to ensure that your heating system stays in top condition. We recommend them to our customers because they can save you money on your energy bills, as well as ensuring that your warranty remains valid if there are any issues with your boiler. Our safety and performance check often highlights future issues that could arise before they happen.

Why do you need a boiler plan?
We recommend boiler plans to help ensure your boiler is safe and performing as it should. Annual inspections could help you avoid unwanted cold nights and freezing showers. We’ll make sure your boiler is in top working condition all year round with our annual service. Having your boiler serviced annually also keeps your warranty valid. That means if you have any issues with the boiler, you’ll be covered by your warranty/guarantee and won’t have to pay for any repairs. Our boiler service plans also inspect the system water, ensuring that your boiler runs as energy-efficient as possible.

The Cosy Home Plus Plan 

The Cosy Home Plus Plan is for families and Landlords that would like more than the “standard” boiler service. For Boilers still within the warranty period. The Cosy Home Plus plan offers everything that the standard boiler service includes but includes many other benefits, such as: 
 
  • Homeowner / Landlord Gas Safety check* 
  • Serviceable parts such as gaskets, seals & electrodes.
  • Chemical testing & redosing, when required, is included. 
  • Extended phone & video support beyond the service day 
  • More help, support, and service are all part of the plan!
 

The Cosy Home Extra Plan

Including all the benefits of the Plus plan, the Cosy Home Extra Plan is for existing customers of Sheffield Boiler People / Hallamshire Energy who now find that that trusty old whitebox is now out of its warranty period and now requires Extra care and serviceable parts! 
 
Now that you have been with us for the last 7 – 10 years, you know that customer service is our priority. We have added this plan exclusively for our long-standing and loyal customers. We did say we wanted to serve you, your family and your friends for the next 10-15 years.

Got a question about our Platinum boiler care plans?

Here are some of the things we’re most often asked by customers across Somerset. If you’re still not sure about something, just give us a ring, we’re always happy to help.

The monthly fee pays the following years boiler service e.g. if you start the Warm Home Care Plan in July 2020, the 12 instalments pays for the boiler service which will be carried out in July 2021 after the final instalment is paid.

Yes, you can still be set you up on the monthly subscription, however you will have to pay the remaining balance on completion of the yearly service.

E.g. 6 months x £10 (Platinum +) = £60, remaining balance to be paid = £60 (including VAT)

Yes, the one-off payment can be made after we have completed the service/warm care home plan. You will then have the same level of service as per the care plan chosen.
It is a very simple and easy process, we will send you a email link via GoCardless, it will ask you for your details such as name and address, bank account number and sort code, then click the button to confirm. All you data is secured by GoCardless and all your information is protected on our systems as per current GDPR guidelines.
The plan is designed for a 12-month period, you can however cancel at any time during the year. If you have used any of the benefits from the plan during the year before you cancel no refund will be issued.
We cover all manufacturers of boilers; we only offer the plans on Natural Gas and LPG Boilers. Oil boilers are not currently covered under the plans.
Yes you can, your first payment will be taking within the first week of your direct debit being setup. After this point we can set a specific date to suit your needs.
CO alarms will protect you and your family from any unsafe situation, our engineers will offer to fit one of these if not present during the boiler service appointment at a small additional fee.

Our engineers will:

  • Bleed the radiators
  • Check that the radiators are getting warm
  • Inspect general working condition of the system

We will not charge an emergency call out fee during our working hours 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday, however our standard hourly fee will be applied.

You will be our priority for an emergency call out, this will be beneficial during the winters months if your boiler breaks down.

An unvented hot water tank is a hot water tank in your airing cupboard that provides you with mains pressure hot water. To identify if you have one of these you will not have cold water tanks in the loft, if you are unsure of your system design, please give us a call we will be happy to help identify this for you.

Our engineers will take a sample of the heating system water to check if corrosion is present, this will help prevent any future issues with the heating system. If we find the system to have signs of corrosion, we will advise the best method to rectify the issue. We offer heating system flush and inline magnetic filters to prevent this issue. If you would like further information, please check our website blogs to explain this in more detail.

This includes 10% discount off parts and labour on the first visit for works up to £500 per annum. There are no limitations on which type of works i.e. plumbing or heating.

Yes you do need to have an email address to setup your direct debit. However you can pay the service plan charge for a one off fee every year if you prefer.
